Urban Edge is making great strides in addressing the housing problem in Roxbury, Jamaica Plain and the surrounding neighborhoods. By the end of 2006, Urban Edge had provided over 1,300 families with safe, stable and high-quality housing to call home. In the coming year, we are working to:
-
Sell 13 new eco-friendly homes by Hyde Park Avenue that was completed in August 2008;
-
Preserve and rehabilitate 103 units in Jamaica Plain Apartments
-
Move forward with Partners for Jackson on the transit-oriented Jackson Square development, which includes over 400 units of housing, 100 of which should be completed in FY09;
-
Complete predevelopment work on Greenview, a mixed development including new housing on Washington Street just south of Egleston Square, in collaboration with the Pine Street Inn,.
