Urban Edge began construction in August 2007 on 13 new “green” homes at the corner of Hyde Park Ave. and Blakemore Street. The Hyde-Blakemore condominiums will be available for occupancy by summer of 2008. Hyde-Blakemore consists of nine 2-bedroom and four 3-bedroom homes in three buildings. Each home will have access to private landscaped open space, off-street parking and will be built using “green” strategies for energy efficiency and healthy living space. The development is made possible with $480,000 funding from the City of Boston Neighborhood Housing Trust, $650,000 from the City of Boston Inclusionary Development Fund and $650,000 from the Mass. Affordable Housing Trust. Construction financing is provided by Citizens Bank.
