Robert Torres is the Director of Community Engagement at Urban Edge, a community development corporation in Boston with over 1,300 units of affordable housing. Robert leads a team of community organizers and resident service coordination professionals, who provide services to residents that lead to positive health, educational and economic outcomes. Prior to his work at Urban Edge, Robert worked as the Staff Director for State Representative Liz Malia. He received his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston where his research focused on housing stability and correlating health outcomes. In 2016 Robert received the Rising Star award from the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations. And in 2017, he was selected for a three-year fellowship through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Culture of Health Leaders program - an initiative that provides training and support to leaders nationwide to help make their communities healthier and more equitable.
