On June 1st, Urban Edge, the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC), and The Community Builders held a joint event to celebrate several housing developments in Jackson Square: JPNDC’s 25 Amory Street Apartments, The Community Builders’ 250 Centre Street development, and our own 1599 Columbus Avenue development. These milestones show progress towards the redevelopment of Jackson Square and the influx of affordable housing in the area. As Sheila Dillon, Boston’s chief of housing puts it, “As we create a lot of new affordable housing, I think [Jackson Square] demonstrates what can be done.”
