Urban Edge initiatives help to keep residents in their homes. Our Community Engagement staff works closely with residents as well as WinnResidential – the property management company involved with Urban Edge developments – to maximize stable tenancy for residents of Urban Edge-owned properties. First, we assess the needs of residents across a spectrum of circumstances, define their needs, and connect them with appropriate social services such as elder services, rental assistance, and job and after-school placements. We then follow up to ensure that the right services are being provided. If you are worried about your housing, ask your property manager about Urban Edge’s program to keep you in your home, or contact the Urban Edge employee listed at the right.

In 2017, Urban Edge Community Engagement staff conducted 65 welcome visits to new residents to offer the full menu of Urban Edge services. Also, 65 families participated in a study that measured the impact our housing support services have on their health. Since moving into Urban Edge housing, residents reported increased feelings of safety, fewer visits to the emergency room, and decreased stress, as well as having health insurance and a primary care physician.
