About:
Durrell J. Harris is a native of Paterson, New Jersey, but has made a strong commitment to the Boston community for the last seven years. Former Director of multiple neighborhood service centers at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc., Durrell is excited to join Urban Edge as the new Associate Director of Community Engagement. As a passionate and persistent advocate for causes that will bring transformational changes, Durrell serves on several community-based advisory boards and committees, which includes Boston Public Health Commission’s Health Equity Advisory Committee, the Dorchester Board of Trade, Athletes without Borders, and the Cummings Foundation – Sustaining Grants Partners Committee.
Durrell holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from American International College, a graduate certificate in Non-Profit Human Services Management from Suffolk University, and a Master's degree in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University. Durrell is also a proud and active brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Prince Hall Free and Accepted Freemasonry.
