Urban Edge announced today the retirement of Bill Brauner, Director of Real Estate, following a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in nonprofit housing and community development.
Since joining Urban Edge, Brauner has played a critical role in advancing the organization’s mission to strengthen communities across Boston and build economic resiliency for families. As Director of Real Estate, he directed and oversaw the real estate team, managing project timelines, property transactions, budgets, and quality standards, while also pursuing new residential and mixed-use development opportunities. His leadership supported Urban Edge’s growing portfolio of new construction projects and renovations to existing affordable housing.
Prior to Urban Edge, Brauner served as Director of Housing Development and Preservation at the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation, where he built deep institutional knowledge and expertise in affordable housing development. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his commitment to mission-driven development and for helping nonprofit organizations respond to the region’s urgent need for accessible and affordable housing.
